About our nursery

all about bambinos

Our aim is to ensure that children enjoy their Early Years' experiences in the care of highly qualified and compassionate educators. We lay the foundations for your child's future success in a stimulating and caring environment.

Children are encouraged through play to develop freedom of movement, freedom to express, rest, explore, and socialise.  Montessori philosophy also allows children to make mistakes and to learn from them.  After all it is through these mistakes that we are encouraged to better ourselves.

The nursery setting itself is in a bright, clean and colourful environment with ample space for the children to experience role play, creative activities, and to play and learn individually as well as in groups.  For the benefit of a childs development, our children are placed into vertical groups.  Vertical grouping is where we encourage mixed age groups of children.   There are many advantages, namely it builds confidence, learning from one another and the additional benefit of the younger children gaining knowledge from the older children.  This also gives the whole group stimulation to prepare them for adult social interaction.

“Our schools show that children of different ages help one another.  The younger ones see what the older ones are doing and ask for explanations.”                                    - Maria Montessori

The building where our nursery is situated is a beautiful renovated church. This adds a lot of charm and character to the ambiance of a warm environment. Bambinos Montessori Nursery is a striking modern facility that provides a welcoming atmosphere which encourages an appetite for learning.

Parents are encouraged to read the parents’ board  to keep abreast of what is happening in bambinos.

Nursery hours are  Full Day Care 8am - 6pm including Term Time Sessions between 9am to 4pm. For parents needing wraparound care, bambinos children will enjoy Breakfast Club from 8am-9am and or After School care, which is available from 4pm - 6pm

all about class names and environment

As a bright setting we do get asked how we picked our class names and colour scheme in the nursery!  A question I do not hesitate to reply to due to the fact that it was children's choices and personal favourites of children's to stimulate their play environments.  Class names were picked showing our love for the Montessori method and meanings of love and little ones in Italian.

safeguarding our bambinos and staffs

As a setting, we are in a unique position to observe changes in a child's behaviour or appearance which give rise to concern about their well-being. We have a duty to comply with the safeguarding and welfare requirements of the EYFS Statutory Framework 2023 (revised) as set out in section 40 of the Childcare Act 2006.

Mental Health and Wellbeing Statement

At Bambinos Montessori Nursery we are committed to supporting the emotional health and well-being of our whole nursery community – children, staff and parents/carers.  We understand well-being as a state of being comfortable, healthy and happy. We know that everyone experiences life challenges that can make us vulnerable and, at times, anyone may need additional emotional support. We take the view that positive mental health is everybody’s business and that we all have a role to play. We will strive to create an environment that has a whole school approach, by providing excellent mental health support, understanding and intervention.

Safeguarding children is everyone's business

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is defined Working Together to Safeguard Children as:

  • Protecting children from maltreatment
  • Preventing impairment of children's health or development
  • Ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care
  • Taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes

Children are best protected when we as professionals are clear about what is required of them individually, and how we need to work together.  We have policies and procedures for the below ensuring safeguarding is one of our priorities in our setting.

  • Allegations against members of staff and the role of the LADO
  • Safeguarding children policy
  • Auditing safeguarding in our setting
  • Prevent Duty
  • Safeguarding training

Special Educational Needs @ bambinos

How we @ Bambinos Montessori will support your child.

  • We provide a stimulating environment in which all children, including those with special educational needs, are supported to reach their full potential.
  • At Bambinos we understand the responsibility to ensure positive attitudes to diversity and difference – not only so that every child is included and not disadvantaged, but also so that they learn from the earliest age to value diversity in others and grow up making a positive contribution to society.
  • We aim to meet the needs of each child as an individual, regardless of difference and diversity.
  • All children are entitled to enjoy a full life in conditions which will help them take part in society and develop as an individual, with their own cultural and spiritual beliefs.
  • We believe that all children should feel valued and confident and should be cared for in a warm and loving environment.  We will work with parents at all stages of the child’s education and care to ensure our principles are put into practice.
  • We ensure our provision at Bambinos Montessori is inclusive for all children with special educational needs.
  • We are committed to the early identification of children with special educational needs and adopting clear and open procedures that are outlined in this policy.
  • Montessori’s method of education also promotes independent learning with support from the key person.
  • We are committed to working closely with parents who are fully involved in all decisions that affect their child’s education, which is supported by daily record books.
  • We discuss with parents or carers how they can support their child’s progress at home.
  • We work in partnership with parents and other agencies in meeting individual children’s needs.
  • All children have a right of full access to Early Years education through, The Early Years Foundation Stage and the Montessori curriculum, which aids children with special needs.
  • All children have a right to expect to learn in a caring and considerate environment where staff and the children are all valued for their contributions.
  • We provide a broad, balanced and differentiated curriculum for all children with special educational needs.
